Victoria's Highland Pacific Golf Played Host To The 2023 BC Juvenile (U17) Championships
For Immediate Release
VICTORIA, B.C. (October 16, 2024) - Highland Pacific Golf in Victoria has been selected by BC Golf as the host site for the 2025 B.C. Men’s Mid-Amateur & Mid-Master Championship from June 2nd to June 5th.
“We are excited to return to Highland Pacific, which is a fantastic golf course and boasts a strong community of pass holders and public players,” said Jerome Goddard, BC Golf Director of Rules & Competitions. “We are looking forward to this event and know that Highland Pacific will be an excellent host for British Columbia’s top Mid-Amateur Men.”
Highland Pacific opened in 2010 and overlooks the majestic Olympic Mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Thetis Lake Park. The facility hosts several competitive events each year and initiatives such as community fundraisers and the Golf & Tacos Social Club.
“Our team at Highland Pacific are ecstatic to host the 2025 Mid-Amateur Championship in June of next year,” said Jeff Palmer, general manager at Highland Pacific.
“This major provincial championship will feature some of the best golfers in the province and hosting this event aligns with one of our core values to support the development of the game in our province. Not to mention that this creates purpose for our team in conditioning the course and operating to the highest possible standard. We anticipate a fantastic event next June."
Competitors should expect a strong test at Highland Pacific, which stretches out to 6603 yards. “Players should expect a fair but challenging test with excellent conditions. To play well players must keep the ball in play from the tee and negotiate the subtle greens successfully. Position the ball well from the tee and putting will be at a premium,” said Palmer.
The most recent Provincial Championship held at Highland Pacific was the 2023 BC Juvenile (U17), won by Austin Krahn in the Boys division and Jenny Kwon in the Girls division. In 2024, Highland Pacific held the PGA of BC’s Tournament of Champions and the Monday Qualifier for the PGA Tour America’s Beachlands Victoria Open.
The Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play with a field size of 132 players. Top finishers will qualify for the Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur at Seymour Golf & Country Club in North Vancouver from August 19th to 22nd, 2025.
More information on entry requirements and registration dates will be available in early 2025.
