Eight incredible individuals to be honoured to the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame

The following outstanding individuals will become honourable members of the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame during an Induction Ceremony on November 24, 2022 @ 8pm EST.

Sara Renner – Athlete, Nordic

Born into a mountain life, Sara Renner’s accomplishments on the world’s largest stages (Olympic, World Cup and World Championships) were matched only by her desire for a more connected-to-nature world.

Rod Hebron – Athlete, Alpine

A 10-year member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team in the 1960s, Rod (Yogi) Hebron was one of the most influential leaders on the various teams he participated, providing inspiration for teammates and the next generation.

Anton Scheier – Builder, Nordic

A cross country skiing high performance coach and administrator and author of Canadian coaching programs, Anton Scheier had a profound influence on coaching while increasing the standards for Canadian skiers.

Al Maddox – Builder, Nordic

One of Canada’s longest serving FIS Technical Delegates, Al Maddox has made a significant systematic improvement to cross country skiing in Canada and worldwide.

Colette Bourgonje – Athlete, Nordic

A 10-time Paralympian (seven Winter Games and three Summer Games) Collette Bourgonje has had a career of trailblazing for para athletes.

Paul Mathews – Builder, Alpine

Paul Mathews is one of the world’s most respected and accomplished ski resort designers in the world, with resort designs from Whistler and Sun Peaks to Bulgaria to Russia and China and many in between (he has worked on 850 projects in 34 countries).

Peter Alder – Builder, Alpine (Posthumous)

Peter Alder’s interest and passion for the ski industry started early and honestly and extended to far reaching areas. By way of Switzerland, Peter’s influence on ski resort management – as an entrepreneur, engineer, manager, and consultant – shaped the ski industry both in B.C., and beyond.

Chic Scott – Builder, Nordic

Chic Scott has spent a lifetime climbing and skiing mountains; leading a wave of homegrown Canadian climbers who changed the tide in the European dominated sport of ski mountaineering.
