United Energy would like to thank all of those who sent in nominations for the 2021 Holiday Giveback – and every community member who makes your town such a great place to live! We so appreciate you and the employees and contractors who work for United Energy in Rogers County and Bartlesville. We understand the financial challenge of rising gas prices…on individuals, families, and even organizations.

This year’s Holiday Giveback was meant to encourage you and show that we value the communities where we operate. Entrants were asked to write what they love most about their community. They could enter on behalf of their family or nominate someone who could really benefit during this season.

There was a continuous theme in all of the participants’ emails…They so love and appreciate their communities!

During a difficult time one person stated, “So much love has been shown to us. All of our friends and neighbors … came by with food, flowers, and cards to our porches, knock, honk and drive away. They checked on us daily. They mowed our lawn, took care of my trash and dropped off goodies. They just kept showing us their love. Through this ordeal, I never felt alone. I was supported with acts of kindness daily. I am so blessed that I live in a supportive community.”

One family’s son is going through cancer radiation treatments some distance away. The gas gift card is coming at a needed time.

Another commented: “Our town is a family-oriented town…people helping people.”

One awesome person nominated On the Rock Ministries of Bartlesville, OK. In their nomination they said, “This non-profit organization….provides no cost after school programs for 3rd - 8th grade students in our area. Twice per week they drive a bus to local elementary schools and pick up children and take them to their facility. (So I know they could really use a $200 gas card!) There, students enjoy a brief fellowship, snack, tutoring, and a wide range of fun activities. Area high school students volunteer to supervise and mentor the younger children. It is a safe, fun environment for students to develop character, make friends, and improve their social and academic skills. This is just one of the many things I love about the Bartlesville community.”

The responses were heart-warming and emotional. When we called to let those selected know that they would be receiving the gas gift card, we learned just how deeply felt their collective appreciation was.

Here are some of their comments: “Thank you SO much! The need is great. It’s a major blessing and it is an extreme help to our family.”

“It’s come at a time of great need and I’m very appreciative.”

“We will use this gas card to go visit family we haven’t been able to see in 4 years. This is such a wonderful opportunity! Thank you so much!!!”

“What a blessing! It will come in handy getting 3 kids home for the holidays from different colleges. Thank you so much!” (This from someone who has to budget gas expenses very carefully every month.)

“Thank you again, you just made our day better!”

From Calvary Inola Youth Group: “The youth will use the gas gift card during spring break. The youth work through Mobile Mission to work at homeless shelters and food kitchens in Northeastern, Oklahoma. Now the youth won’t have to ask for a special offering. Thank you so much from Calvary Baptist Youth of Inola!” To learn more about the youth group, go to: Calvary Inola - Ministries - Youth Ministry

“Your company is a blessing that just keeps giving and giving to my small community. Thank you from the depth of my heart.”

“I am thankful to have been nominated and blessed to have been selected to receive this gift! This community has wonderful people who love on one another and genuinely care about the families whom they serve. No matter what we go through, someone is always there for us!”

And, from On the Rock Ministries: (a non-profit working with 600 kids a week at no charge for the programs.)

“We pick up a lot of kids, so we use a lot of gas. We transport staff, volunteers, and students using big busses and smaller vans. We are so incredibly thankful! It is so kind and generous of you! We are grateful that people recognize (the work we do) and contribute to it. Thank you!” To see the work they are doing, go to:  On The Rock Ministries - Home page

We truly cherish “people helping people” and we are fortunate to have been blessed by the genuine love so many feel toward their communities. Thank you and Happy Holidays from United Energy!
