VIEW DOCUMENTS RIGHT ONLINE WITHOUT DOWNLOADING
We have just made life easier for your newsroom visitors by enabling them to view your documents in your documents section online without having to download them first. For example, if you are a restaurant and want to post an updated PDF menu, the menu is viewable right online. This feature includes Powerpoint presentations, PDF documents, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents.
Nowadays, it is a game changer when people are sensitive (because of viruses) about what they download.
CUSTOMIZE PRESS KIT ZIP ICONS
Previously, when creating a press kit, you were stuck with the stock ZIP icon, which was neither visually attractive nor brandable for some.
With our latest update, you can customize the press kit zip icon with an image or graphic, like your logo, to further brand your newsroom. See attached screen shots.
How do you do this? If you have an existing press kit, log into your account, go to > Your Newsrooms > Newsroom Press Kits, and click ‘Edit.’ Next, scroll down, and at the bottom of your screen, you will see a box labeled ‘Personalize Your Press Kit.’ We recommend a square image or graphic, i.e., 200 x 200 pixels.
If creating a new press kit, go to > Your Newsrooms > Newsroom Press Kits and click ‘Create a Press Kit. On the create a press kit screen, there is now an option to add your image or graphic. We recommend a square image or graphic, i.e., 200 x 200 pixels.
CUSTOMIZE DOCUMENT ICONS
Previously, similar to our press kit ZIP icon, documents had stock icons representing Word, Powerpoint, etc., which were neither visually attractive nor brandable to some.
With our latest update, you can customize the document icons with an image or graphic, like your logo, to further brand your newsroom. See attached: Image 2.
If you are uploading a new document, after you upload the document, you can go back in and ‘Edit’ the document and add a description AND image or graphic of your choice to represent the document.
With our latest update, there is now information advising visitors that they can click the graphic to view the document online without having to download it first. This functionality is desirable to those who may be cautious about downloading documents. This functionality also includes the viewing of PowerPoint presentations.
JOURNALIST DATABASE STATUS UPDATE
PR Karma strives to keep our database of journalists that we send your news to updated regularly. However, since our last update approximately six months ago, we have been quite surprised with the number of job changes, averaging around 40% change in journalists moving.
