The Importance of a Friendship and how it can Help Keep you out of the Therapists Office – How ‘Buddy System” Picks up the Slack.

Maybe you don't need a therapist, perhaps what you are looking for are friends and a support system.

In this day and age, the struggles among people are real. Whether it is loneliness, depression, or anxiety, some folks, unfortunately, turn to addictive behavioral issues causing some to spiral. Those who recognize this may seek social services for help, life coaching, or a recovery program. However, most people find it easier to talk with someone about issues than bottle it up inside and turn to the dark side.

Not everyone falls down the rabbit hole; some folks flounder on the surface, struggling from boredom, loneliness or companionship, wishing they had a companion or friend to talk to about anything that comes to mind. Social activities and meeting people can be problematic in an ever-growing society where work is becoming more demanding and many individuals work from home.

Although not everyone is interested in having people to talk to (introverts), many would love to have a buddy they can hang with and talk to about what is happening in their world, perhaps looking for advice or simply airing their concerns.

Some may argue that one could go to a community centre, head to an event, or look up some activity groups; however, those settings do not explicitly address building long-term friendships.

What if there was something like a “real-life social network?”. Could this be the answer to all this? Ross Hiebert of Buddy-System.ca believes so. The difference the Buddy System makes is that we act as a social concierge service that is proactive about connecting good people to build long-term relationships. Buddy System aspires to connect individuals with friend-finding, matchmaking, social events, activities, socials, weekend retreats, dinner parties, and scheduled outings.

Buddy System knows its members, interests, and beliefs and pairs them with like-minded individuals, so there is a common starting point for a longer-term friendship. We then make plans to bring people together to befriend and inspire one another. As an event planner and social concierge, the Buddy System doesn’t leave anyone behind. Instead, we do our best to pair people together and find activities we can do together so that a friendship can emerge naturally.

Based indigenous values of the Metis people, our growing business emulates a culture lost in modern Western society. The kind of culture where people support each other and genuinely care about one another. To find out more, email info@buddy-system.ca
